Tracy Bird  was appointed  Independent Travel Coordinator with Calderdale and has not been letting grass grow under her feet. With help from travel trainers already well established nearby Tracy has produced a pack for travel trainers which will not only give a good grounding in what independent travel is all about, but contains examples of forms, letters and the small details of running an independent travel project.

For instance, Tracy has produced the necessary risk assessments and had them approved by the local Health and Safety officer. Then there are pro-formas for introducing your project  to parents and carers and consent forms as well.

The pack contains this material in downloadable form for you to reproduce.

Whilst you would not be expected to copy this material slavishly (certainly not the risk assessments) they make a very good starting point. Why reinvent the wheel?

This sounds like an advertising script, but it's more of a glowing review.

Calderdale are charging £75 to cover their costs in setting it up.
